Most people think negotiating is just about getting the price down. It’s not.

Sometimes the biggest savings come from things buyers don’t even know to ask for.

Area guides

Charlotte is not one housing market.

What you are buying, what it costs to own, and what is askable all change from one part of the metro to the next. Start with the one you are looking at.

Ballantyne

Ballantyne is far south Charlotte at the South Carolina line: master-planned subdivisions, townhomes and condos around an office park that is being rebuilt into a walkable district.

Dilworth

Dilworth was Charlotte's first streetcar suburb: compact blocks, long lots, porches close to the street, and bungalows standing next to 1920s quadraplexes.

Myers Park

Myers Park is central Charlotte, laid out from 1911 to John Nolen's plan: curving streets, deep lots, and houses that range from original to rebuilt.

South End

South End puts condos, townhomes, the Rail Trail and the LYNX Blue Line within a few minutes of Uptown. That convenience comes with tradeoffs: HOA costs, parking, construction, nightlife and resale can change noticeably from one property to the next.

SouthPark

SouthPark is a mixed-use district in south-central Charlotte where established residential streets sit beside one of the city's largest shopping and office centers.

Steele Creek

Steele Creek was farmland until the late 1990s, and most of what is here now went up after that. Houses sit longer than they do in south Charlotte, and that is leverage if you know what to do with it.

In their words

One buyer, one seller.

Both reproduced exactly as they were posted. Emily itemizes what a builder gave up. Sharee sold from another state.

We had a fantastic experience working with our realtor, Jasmine Garcia . Her professionalism, knowledge, and dedication were exceptional. As first time home buyers, Jasmine guided us through every step of the home buying process with patience and expertise. She truly listened to our needs and found us the perfect home within our budget. Her negotiation skills were impressive, and she ensured that we got the best deal possible. With her help we secured $12,000 in closing cost incentives, which helped us lock in a 2-1 buydown on our interest rate. Also, all appliances (washer, dryer, & refrigerator) & blinds included. Jasmine’s communication was prompt and clear, keeping us informed at all times. I highly recommend Jasmine to anyone looking to buy or sell a home. Thank you for a seamless and stress-free experience, Jasmine!

Emily C. · Bought a single-family home in Sunset Road, Charlotte, NC · 2024 · Zillow, Emily C.’s review is on her Zillow profile (opens an external site)

I don’t have enough words to express how grateful I am to Jasmine. After almost 2 years of trials with selling my home Jasmine finally closed the deal. From the very beginning, they she was on it, I had some repairs that were needed (ok, a few more than some), and she connected me with a contractor right away to get the house ready to list. When things popped up as time went on she was there to fix things within hours. I don’t live in the state anymore, and she was my eyes and ears the whole time. No panic, just handled. She hosted open houses, checked in on the house regularly, and kept me in the loop the whole time. On top of everything else, when it comes to negotiations she’s the best of the best. She was able to get me $20k more than the initial offer, pushed for a higher due diligence amount, and even negotiated the repair agreement so I didn’t get stuck with a bunch of costs. I ended up saving (and making!) thousands. Also, my house sold faster than anything else in the neighborhood. Honestly, if you want someone who’s caring, responsive, and genuinely has your back, this is the agent you want. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you for everything Jasmine!
